Counselling & Psychotherapy
I’m Rebecca. I'm a Counsellor and Psychotherapist; here to help you explore your life and inner world, work through difficulties, and think about relationships with curiosity, courage, and self-compassion. The first act of self-compassion is making a commitment to show up for yourself even when life feels confusing and hard.

Counselling with me.I’m a qualified integrative* counsellor and psychotherapist based in Central and East Bristol, offering sessions in person, via video, and on the phone, whatever feels most comfortable and workable for you.Click here to see where I work in Old Market and Park Street, Bristol. The reasons people come to therapy are varied. Whether that reason for you feels clear-cut, or harder to pin down, we can figure it out and explore it together. For me, therapy is collaborative. It’s important that I understand your life as you experience it, including the parts that feel messy, complicated, or difficult to say out loud. If things feel confusing or contradictory, that’s ok, and often a starting point for rich and useful therapy!Together we might look at emotions, shed light on different aspects of your experiences, notice recurring patterns in relationships, or explore the stories you’ve carried about yourself over time. I’m interested in the relationship you have with yourself-the tone you use internally, the parts you hide and what might shift if that relationship became more curious. We’ll go at your pace, following what feels most present and meaningful.I also love working creatively, for example with symbolism, metaphor, and creative writing.* Integrative therapy just means that I choose which models of therapy to draw from depending on the person in front of me and what they bring.

Training and experience.I hold a postgraduate diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy and have completed additional training, particularly in emotions, mindfulness, and therapeutic writing - tools I also value in my own life for self-exploration and staying grounded.I’ve worked with a wide range of people and experiences and bring awareness of the diverse ways that identity, background, and social context can shape us. Alongside early relationships and family dynamics, I’m interested in wider cultural, societal, and intergenerational influences on how we make sense of our lives.AbortionI have several years’ experience therapeutically supporting women before and after abortion, and I understand how complex and layered the emotions around this experience can be. Through this work, I've sat with women from many different social, cultural and religious backgrounds. This work has broadened my understanding of grief, loss, identity, guilt, shame and the many ways we can relate to ourselves, and our communities.Creativity/ Therapeutic WritingI love ways of working that help people to explore their inner world with depth and creativity. This may include introducing metaphor and symbolism as we talk, or bringing in imagination. If it resonates with you, I can offer therapeutic writing exercises to do in between sessions, or to workshop as part of your session.
